my aunt told me that cheap wedding dresses that are true bright white are not slimming and make you look fatter and i should go with a off white or ivory dress instead. I always thought white would be really summery and clean. Im a size 16 in cheap wedding dresses… im caucasion and my skin tone is light beige with some yellow undertones. Would an off white prom  dresses look better on me?

I am very pale and a size 16 as well. The white Bridesmaid dresses made me look like a giant marshmellow puff! It was not good. I was leaning toward ivory/champagne/gold and that what I ended up with. A ivory Bridesmaid dresses with mostly a champagne bottom. The contrasting colors made me look much slimmer and taller.
So it’s not true that white always makes you look bigger, but since I am short and curvy it wasn’t an option.
Plus white made me feel too formal, I love the comfortable but elegant look the ivroy gives me.

My sister is a size 24, with very pail skin, and got married April of last year. She looked amazing in her pure white dress. Everyone actually thought she looked much thinner in it! If it is a well made quinceanera dresses, any color will make you look thinner.

Just be sure to look for one that has a built in corset or get some good shape wear and you’ll be fine. Trust me, pure white looks great on any bride. Personally, I am wearing a white wedding dress because it has just been tradition (apparently since the 1800s) and I do want to stand out as being the bride, the only one in white. And the white wedding dresses are so beautiful.

If someone else wants to wear a different color on their wedding, I am fine with that.
